Presidency Message:
Recently, I was sitting near the baptismal font in the temple—pondering, waiting, and just soaking in the beautiful peace and a much-needed break from the distractions of the world. Suddenly, the words of the baptizer caught my attention. He was a temple worker speaking with a heavy British accent. As I began to focus more closely on the way those familiar, sacred words sounded, I was deeply moved by how much emphasis he placed on the name of Jesus Christ compared to the baptizers before him.
In Doctrine and Covenants 20:73, the baptismal prayer is given: “Having been commissioned of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.” It struck me with the uniting thought that Jesus Christ was the common thread bringing every single person in that room together. My family and I had come to the temple that day specifically to serve and to feel closer to Him. Because of that moment, I found myself focusing so much more on the name of Jesus Christ throughout the rest of our visit, as well as on the precious names of those for whom we were performing baptisms and confirmations.
As I was studying later that evening, I came across these words by Elder Neal A. Maxwell: “He has loved you for a long, long time. He not only knows the names of all the stars, He knows your names and all your heartaches and your joys.”
Jesus Christ truly knows each of our names and knows us individually. I feel His strength so clearly whenever I turn to Him. The Holy Ghost has brought me such profound comfort in times of sorrow and joy, especially when I don't know what to do or can't see a clear path ahead. More than anything, I see Him shining through each of you. You inspire me by the way you love, care for, and serve one another. I am incredibly grateful for each of you and for the beautiful examples you are in my life.
With love,
Jill Walker

We have lived in the ward for 10 years, and we absolutely love Saratoga Springs. From the moment we moved here, it felt exactly like where we were meant to be.
When I was about 16 years old, my mother signed me up for modeling school. Although I did a little modeling, she always said the classes were more about helping me develop poise and confidence than becoming a model. I graduated from East High School and went to work at a flight school at the Salt Lake airport. Later, I attended Brigham Young University where I met lifelong friends - though not my husband. I later worked as a secretary and then as a security officer for Questar gas company, a job I truly loved. They even trained me to shoot a gun and paid for my schooling to become an EMT. That training proved valuable one day when a man in the parking lot had combined medications and was struggling to breathe. While waiting for the ambulance, I treated him for shock and kept him warm with a blanket.
I have several hobbies, but what I love most is being with people--especially my family. I grew up loving the outdoors, particularly tennis and swimming. I also enjoy going to the gym, especially when I can ride my e-bike there.
Most importantly, I love my Savior and recognize his blessings in everything I see and do.
Interestingly enough, my ex-boyfriend introduced me to my husband at a singles ward! My husband and I now have six wonderful children--three boys and three girls--and six grandchildren who constantly amaze and amuse us.
We feel truly blessed to call this word our family and to know such wonderful people here. Thank you for loving us and welcoming us as your friends.

My husband Stewart and I moved in two years ago and have been serving as missionaries in West Valley City. We have four daughters. Three are married and our youngest, Ellie, just returned home from her mission to New Mexico. We have six granddaughters so far and the race is on for who will give us our first grandson!
I grew up in Orange, Connecticut. I moved out to Utah in 1988 to start college at BYU. I didn't know anyone, but it had always been my dream to go to BYU and to be around more members of the church. I loved every minute of BYU and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. When I left for college, my sister's only words of counsel were, "Just don't get married to someone from the west coast or else I'll never see you." That's precisely what I did. This will be Stewart and my 33rd year of marriage.
My mother instilled in me a love for family history. She is a master at gathering geneology records and the data. My love is more for personal family history, which is organizing the information shes's gathered as well as information from those still living and preserving it for posterity.
I cherish every moment with my grandchildren and children and enjoy helping my daughters during this chaotic stage of life. I also love caring for the elderly and currently work part time at my dream job as an Activity Director for an assisted living home.
If I was asked what "a few of my favorite things" kind of day looked like, it would be sitting on a rowboat in the middle of a lake casting a fishing pole off the side, just enjoying the quiet stillness around me. It would be gathered around a. dinner table with all my family and enjoying their stories and laughter over a nice steak dinner. It would be having a dance party with my granddaughters and then ending the day with a warm brownie sundae.
